Coaching level: International Pairs Specialist Coach and National/Provincial Singles Coach
After a 16 year career as a figure skater on the National Team for both women’s singles skating and pairs skating, I started my coaching journey in 2018.
As a figure skater, I won 7 Canadian National titles, 2 World titles and won a gold, silver and bronze at the Olympic Games. I made history at the 2018 Olympics by becoming the first female pairs skater to ever land a throw quad in Olympic history. I travelled with Stars On Ice tours around Canada, Japan and China for 8 years before Covid lockdowns put those tours on pause. After this experience, I turned my attention to coaching.
As a coach, I have coached seminars around the World focusing on on-ice and off-ice techniques. I coach international pair skaters and provincial level singles skaters. I also created and managed an online seminar during Covid lockdowns called “Everything Skating” in which hundreds of skaters and coaches worldwide registered and learned from World renowned coaches and skaters. I have a partnership with some coaches and skating clubs around Canada in which I visit as a consultant coach to help their National level skaters.
I also work with CBC Sports and CBC Olympics as a figure skating analyst for TV coverage.
Philosophy:
I love to share my passion of figure skating with young skaters. I challenge and inspire my skaters and my goal is that each of my skaters exceeds what they thought their limit was. Through holistic well-being, I want to challenge and inspire each individual skater to go outside of their comfort zone and strive for excellence.
